Ruin and Rising - Leigh Bardugo

I put off reading this book for 6 months!!! I did not want the story to end! This is a book that I expected to ruin me, and it almost did.

I love that Alina has to learn her own strength and willpower. She’s not big on relying on those around her to help. Not because she doesn’t think she doesn’t need the help, but because she wants to protect them. Mal is… well, Mal. He can be infuriating at times, but other times he’s freaking perfect.

Alina has to deal with her want for more power, and defeating the Darkling. He’s a strong force, and she doesn’t know how she’s going to do it. She also doesn’t want to lose Mal, and she knows whatever path she chooses that it’s a big possibility.

I’m trying to leave this spoiler free, but there are battles, mind games, and battles of the heart. Grab the tissue because you will definitely need them. I was so sad to say goodbye to this series, but I loved every minute on this crazy ride.
