Midnight Frost - Jennifer Estep
3.5

I'm not sure if I wasn't in the right frame of mind to read this next installment, but it seems like it took me forever to get through it. Even though it took me a bit, I still enjoyed this book.

After the events that happened in Crimson Frost, the student body at Mythos Academy is still pretty shaken up, especially Gwen. She is constantly having nightmares, and is completely heart-broken. She spends a lot of the time feeling sorry for herself, but she bounces back in true Gwen fashion. She shows how strong and determined she can be regardless of the personal things she has to deal with. Logan isn't present in a lot of this book, but when he tries to be there for his friends. We also meet a new character who's pretty bad ass. I hope we get to see more of her in the future.

The story line starts out pretty slow. There are a few high points where there is a lot of action, but then it dies down. The pace picks up about 55% into the book. We learn some things about a few of the characters. I won't say who because it'd be a big spoiler.

Even though this is wasn't my favorite book in the series, but I'm glad I read it. After the events that take place in this book, I'm anxious to see what the Reapers have to throw at Gwen, and her friends, next.
