What Pretty Girls are Made Of is a fun, quick read. It's definitely a book about self-discovery. And if you hated Dragon Lady in Devil Wears Prada, well Alison's boss is right up there with bosses you love to hate. She is awful.
Alison has to find her own happy. Even if that means putting up with other people's crap. I love that she isn't a quitter. She sticks it out as long as possible. There are many times I would have yelled obscenities and walked right out.
My favorite thing is while there are dates mentioned in this book, it's not the main focus. It's more about Alison, her family, and friends. I love the relationship she has with all of them.
