Paper Thin broke my heart, but Crumbled gave me hope.
At the end of Paper Thin Dawson headed off on his own to try to cope with losing Emma. And he finds himself getting angrier and angrier with how things happened. Dawson is finding it hard to cope with the loss of Emma and has a complete downward spiral.
In this books Dawson doesn't really believe in fate. But I think it totally worked that way for him. He met some people along his travels that show that things get better, and they could always be worse. He really gets things put in perspective and makes friends he never thought he'd have. Things between him and Charlotte are tense at times, but I think that's because they don't know how to handle their grief and deal with each other. There are so many mixed emotions on both of their parts.
I think Crumbled showed the heartache of losing someone very well. You can feel their emotions and their loss. But it also did a fantastic job of showing that there is more, and you don't have to let that grief consume you.
If you've read Paper Thin, I definitely suggest reading this companion book.
